An elegant, antique deep gold tone double 8x10 hinged metal photo frame, circa mid 1950s. Nice vintage condition with no adverse metal deterioration. Has the beginning of a rich, gold patina. Black velvet backing does show some signs of age-related wear as expected (see photo), but not near as much when compared to most from this era. The black is somewhat of an unusual color for the period as well. Easel is in fine working order. Backing does have a slight funky age-related smell (nothing stifling) that will slowly dissipate. The frame was confined in storage for over 30 years. Overall measures approximately 16 1/2 inches by 10 1/4 inches. Unpackaged weight is a little over 2 pounds.
Specifically Concerning Photo Frames:
Please note that the images you see in frame listings (unless otherwise specified) are low-resolution reproductions of vintage portraits from a personal collection. They have no actual value per listing. Their sole purpose is simply to fill the frame space. Also, be aware that it is not uncommon for the glass in vintage metal frames to have chipped corners or flea bites along edges. Rest assured that this in no way affects any visual presentation, as these age-related imperfections are well hidden behind frame borders. Keep in mind too that antique glass may have waves, seeds, or tiny etch marks due to manufacturing processes of the time.
